Touchwood Shopping Centre Solihull

A challenging yet extremely rewarding project to complete. It involved decorations to the shopping/leisure mall in Touchwood shopping centre. We had a 6 hour window from 00.00hrs – 06.00hrs to retrieve our powered access from their external storage (4 of them) , protect all flooring whilst moving them, protect all the mall surfaces whilst we were working, complete our works and clear away all evidence of us being there, clear by 06.00hrs.

The scope of works was indepth with all decorative high level plaster work, walls, wooden cladding/plinths, metalwork, including all balustrades and wooden floors being decorated. Due to the area being such high volume the client’s attention was to durability and as a result the wooden floors, plinths/cladding were totally stripped back to bare wood before being brought forward to the required finish. The balustrades required mechanical abrasion to ensure a sound key before they were fully primed.

The sequencing was key as a majority of the works were at height and required these works being completed before we could move onto the lower sections. With a 5 week programme we had to continually monitor progress and adapt as required when issues arose.

We delivered the programme and to a fantastic standard – We couldn’t ask more of the team who remained focussed and positive throughout the project. The client is delighted with the finish and complimented us on how we delivered the project whist working around the centre’s operation.
